Based on the most famous of the Lenten chorales, and written for a worship introit during the season of Lent. For the first stanza I have used the traditional harmonization while for the second, I moved the melody to the bass and tenor, adding an obbligato in the women's voices above. Intended to be sung unaccompanied but could effectively be sung with organ/keyboard doubling the voice parts.
