Lyrical and expressive, single-movement, rondo for solo piano.
(Forces: p)
Written for Ellie Morgans, a student of Dylan’s, to perform in the Piano Project 2018.
The music is modelled on Fur Elise, a favourite of Ellie’s. Beethoven has always been an admired composer for both Dylan and Ellie, so ‘Fur Elise’ created a fitting premise on which a composition was to be based.
The music has no programmatic elements or characteristics, and exists purely as a music for enjoyment or technical study, specifically into cantabile voicing. As music entrenched thoroughly in melody and harmony, the music was only composed to be pleasant to play, and pleasing on the ear.
