The intention was to explore some interesting chord progressions. You'll notice the frequent changes of key as the piece unfolds. I also wanted to make it challenging enough for them to play, so it's pitched at about Grade 8. As I put the structure together, I wanted to explore how the flute and piano could interact together, which explains how the melody lines often move between the soloist and the piano.
