This is a flowing, syncopated piano solo that is broken up into 3 different sections.
The first section defines the major theme with both hands playing syncopated arpeggios with the right hand switching to a more melodic tune.
The second section is more stately and solemn, making use of the pedal to keep things smooth and gentle.
The third section picks up tempo and changes into compound time, with a 2 bar rhythmic ostinato in both hands. This leads into a variation of the first section arpeggios but in compound time.
The piece finishes with the arpeggio passage from section 1, but at a slower, calmer tempo.
