This piece was composed in 1997 for a visit to the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist of Wausau, Wisconsin by Bishop Russell Jacobitz. It is inspired by great British composers, Herbert Howells, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and of course, my favorite, H. Walford Davies.

The picture is of the old interior of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa, where I played for 16 years before going into church music fulltime.
