Vic Carnall’s Fenton-Opal Blues (Number 2) was composed for, and is most respectfully dedicated to, his long-standing friends, Frank and Jill Warren. Using the technique of alphabetically-based notation, the dedicatees’ initials, FW and JW, have resulted in the notes F-B and C-B, which feature, at certain points of the score, in this particular order, or, here and there, in the order of various rearrangements of these specific notes. Performance: "molto espressivo" and "rubato (poco/molto)", throughout, please; also, please attempt to play this piece "In Jazz Manner" (to quote George Gershwin’s written instruction, to the solo pianist, at the head of that composer’s Jasbo Brown Blues (Porgy and Bess/1935)). /
