Ancipes is a work in vocalises for Soprano or melodic instrumental ad lib. & Flute with B foot ad lib.
Commissioned by Soprano Marie Lombard and flautist Camille Chaumont, it was created in May 2019 at the Rennes Opera, its title from Latin means "which has two heads" or "double, hesitant, ambiguous". Treating the flute and the voice as a single instrument dissociating, the work explores with virtuosity the inconstancy of human relationships, strewn with pitfalls, from unity to completeness.
