An interpretation of Bach’s Chaconne from Partita No. 2 for solo violin for two pianos, four hands. Bach may have written Partita No. 2 for Solo Violin to commemorate the death of his first wife, Maria. But the last movement is a chaconne, a form derived from a rowdy and bawdy Spanish dance. If this was for Maria, it seems it wasn’t meant to remember her death, but rather her life - their joyous life together. This arrangement is for two pianos, four hands. See score for more details.
