You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices. This piece was originally written for quite a small ensemble of students, and I tried to make it effective while at the same time limiting the technical demands and avoiding intervals which were awkward to pitch. It can be performed without percussion, but does lose some colour thereby. The five-bar phrase used in the ’Pursuit’ sections is identical in all parts, and is simply used as a canon at the bar. The trumpets need to be well spaced out to obtain the full antiphonal effect, as is suggested at the head of the score. The Euphonium part may be regarded as optional.
