Excursion is defined in the dictionary as 1)A short journey made for pleasure, 2)A group taking a short pleasure trip together, and 3)In Physics, a movement from and back to a position or axis in an alternating motion.
I have added optional Oboe, English Horn, and 4th Clarinet parts at the request of one of the ensembles who played the piece. I am making them available to download here for those groups that have those instruments and wish to use them. They are not necessary, but are a nice addition. The MP3 recording presented here was recorded without the additional parts.
Please listen to the MP3 recording, as the MIDI totally distorts the balance between lows and highs.
