The Austrian Civil Engineer Ernst Kubacsek, who at the time when I composed this trio named in his honour, lived and worked in Mexico, played the clarinet, his wife, the Music Pedagogue Erika Kubacsek, the piano, and I, the violoncello. I wrote this piece in the hope to perform it together with the aforementioned persons, but it never came to that.

This is the version for flute, violoncello and piano (the original is with clarinet instead of flute).

Of course, a violin could be used instead of the flute, but the interesting thing is to have each one of the instruments of a different family (woodwind, strings, keyboard) contrasting against each other.
