This march, titled "Remembrance of the School Festival of 15 May 1960", I composed to honour the memory of our Music Teacher, Josefina Leticia Álvarez Ierena (1926-2014) upon learning about her passing in January 2014. Every year, the German School "Alexander von Humboldt" in Mexico-City used to hold a School Festival, mostly during the month of May. And, when starting to write this march, the School Festival of 15 March 1960, the first one I attended during my stay in Mexico, came to my mind, and its vivid remembrance inspired me for this composition.
