Entmoot is a piece inspired by J.R.R. Tolkein's trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. In the second book of the triology, The Two Towers, two of the characters encounter living trees called Ents. The Ents decide to have a long debate and conversation that they call an Entmoot. Basically, a conversation of trees. I dedicate this piece to Mr. Tolkein in appreciation for the wonderful stories he has given us. Thank you, Sir. This piece, being a conversation of trees is for four bassoons and one contra-bassoon. It's also very….unique. It has very odd rhythms and melodies. It is also very difficult. And even more difficult is finding enough bassoon players to play it! Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it.
