This piece is written in memory of my aunt, who passed in 2013. At the time, I was going through a lot and could not find the ideas to articulate my feelings. After some monumental life changes, and some healing, I've finally found my voice again. The intent of the piece is a contemplation of death, a remembrance of a life lived, and a realization of the triumph of the eternal over death. My faith has been a source of inspiration for the music I write. And yes, Philip Glass is an influence on the piece. The first offering (or premiere, if you will) is slated for November 5th, 2017 at the 10:45 service at the United Methodist Church of New Lenox in New Lenox, Illinois as a part of the service for All Saints.
