"Eight Crazy Nights" is a legato exercise for the contemporary drumline, written for groups of all ages and skill levels.

"Eight Crazy Nights" includes three variations. Variant A is straight eight-on-a-hand with no variations. Variant B introduces bass line and cymbal line splits, with additional movement around the tenors. Variant C adds dynamics and a small five- and three-on-a-hand section, with a short tag at the end.

"Eight Crazy Nights" is written for at least one (1) snare drum, at least one (1) tenor drum with one (1) spok drum, at least five (5) tonal bass drums, and at least four (4) cymbals. For a small fee, you may request a version of this exercise catered specifically to your drumline's instrumentation.

This exercise was originally commissioned by the Franklin Regional High School Panther Marching Band for their 2024 season.
