"Dido and Aeneas" is a Tragic Opera in 3 Acts with music composed by Henry Purcell and from the libretto of Nahum Tate.� This tune is a sad Aria which is sung by Dido, the Queen of Carthage, the words "When I am laid in earth" says it all, and brings the opera to its conclusion.� I have played this lament many times, whilst in the massed band,s at the War Memorial in London, for Remembrance Day.��
