William Wordsworth wrote the poem, "Ode to Duty" in 1805 at age 35. This Devotional # 4 is set to the the first lines of the third verse which, in total, reads:

"Serene will be our days and bright, And happy will our nature be, When love is an unerring light, And joy its own security. And they a blissful course may hold Even now, who, not unwisely bold, Live in the spirit of this creed; Yet seek thy firm support, according to their need."

The music is written on one staff, coined "stafflet edition" (or stafflet). It is designed to be played with minimum time invested for maximum enjoyment.
