The priest, poet and musician John Darwall composed a melody for each of the psalms in Tate & Brady's "New Version of the Psalms of David " (1696). The words of the 148th psalm begin "Ye boundless realms of joy Exalt your Maker's frame". His 148th tune is now often sung to hymns of praise such as "Ye holy angels bright" or "Rejoice, the Lord is King".
