CREATION STORY was Stephen's first musical with a libretto mostly written by Anthea Deakin (additional words by Alison Varley, Alison Reddihough and Stephen). It is a broad retelling of the events covered in the first part of Genesis and the fall of Lucifer. Entirely sung-through, it could also be called a musical oratorio. CREATION STORY was first performed at the National Garden Festival in 1986 and the following year at the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford by a terrific cast. Between March and June 2019, Stephen has revised the musical into this new performing version. CREATION STORY can be performed in Concert or with staging. The music can be freely interpreted. Occasionally, instrumental cue lines are written into the vocal part (and clearly marked so). Please note no orchestrations are available at this time. Duration about one hour and 15 minutes.
