The Coventry Carol is part of a work known as the "Pageant of the Shearmen & Tailors" (15th cent.) In the pageant, this selection is sung by the Women of Bethlehem, just before the soldiers of King Herod arrive to slaughter their children. My setting of the "1591" version of the piece puts the melody in the middle voice. I did this arrangment for my Rector's three daughters, to sing on Christmas Day 2002. It was very well received. The organ part is for rehearsal only. Do En-Joy!

Cheers,

H. L.
