I have composed two very different harpsichord concertos. The 1st one was input in MIDI in 1996 (therefore gets No. 1) and notated in 2009 (with some changes in the final movement). The 2nd one was composed in 2005 (and thoroughly revised in 2021). The solo part and the orchestral parts of the 2nd are more demanding than in the 1st. Here I present the 2nd harpsichord concerto. It consists of three movements. The 1st movement is fast and in sonata form, and it is characterised by sudden mood swings between the gentle main theme and its derived serious and mysterious counterpart, that will also play a role in the other movements. The development section starts around 2’05”. The 2nd movement is slow and solemn, and also in (a free) sonata form; it contains a cadenza. The 3rd (and final) movement is fast and in rondo form. Please enjoy the digital performance made in Sibelius 6.1 with Garritan Personal Orchestra and feel free to review. Score moving videos and play along videos on my YouTube-channel.
