This is a neo-romantic cello concerto, not too demanding but with enough possibilities for the soloist to show off. The 1st movement is lyrical and tuneful. It is moderately fast and in sonata form. The movement contains a cadenza in the development section. The 2nd movement is slow, (most of the time) solemn and also in sonata form. The final movement is an up-tempo toccata (in which the low energetic melody from the main theme is accompanied by a repeated twinkling 4-notes motif) and also in sonata form. Digital performance using Sibelius 6 and Garritan Personal Orchestra. Score moving videos on my YouTube-channel.

Reviews of Concerto for cello and orchestra, Op. 79 - III. Toccata
A magnificent piece . . . but why does the solo cello sound off to the extreme right side? In a live performance, the soloist certainly would not be placed there. Easily remedied by the slider in the Mixer window.
I'm telling you, you should get rid of the Garritan Phony Orchestra and get Note Performer. It's cheap and works well with Sibelius 6.
