This is a neo-classical bassoon concerto, not too demanding but with enough possibilities for the soloist to show off. It was composed in 2015 and revised in 2024. The 1st movement is gracious and moderately fast and in sonata form; the movement contains a lyrical cadenza. The 2nd movement is a slow and moving cantilene, with a solemn and dramatic middle section, all built upon one theme. The final movement is a very up-tempo galop in rondo form. Please enjoy the digital performance in Sibelius 6 with Garritan Personal Orchestra, and feel free to comment under the score moving videos on my YouTube-channel. On 28th July 2018 The Opus Project Orchestra, with Tim Machajewski as soloist, publicly performed the 1st movement at the Diablo Valley College, in Pleasant Hill, CA , in the USA.
