These seven short pieces are settings of the Church of England's "Common Worship" Communion Service. They are designed to be easy to sing, but interestingly different from each other. The congregation, accompanied by organ (or other keyboard instrument), sings the top line of each setting, with an optional SATB choir providing harmonic interest in various forms. The "Lord, have mercy" has a quiet second line forming a kind of angelic echo. In the "Doxology" the congregation and choir are encouraged to sing the first few bars as a two-part round before continuing into the "Amen" section.
