An original Christmas piece, this is an unconventional SATB in that although there are four parts, he parts do not harmonize with each other, but rather are four individual melodies (in the same key) and four sets of individual lyrics! It’s a little confusing at first, but once each choir section learns its individual part well, it becomes a delightful cacophony of sound. I was in good company composing this piece, as well, because Mozart did something similar with his ensemble pieces in the opera "The Marriage of Figaro" you begin with a solo melody, then add another to make a duet; then add another to become a trio, then add the last melody to make a quartet. The repetitions make this piece a little lengthy; so be sure to keep a steady tempo and not let it drag.
