This a cabaret piece reminiscent of the London Edwardian music hall, written in a genre of popular music which has always fascinated the arranger because of its gaity and vitality. You can just imagine the music hall comedian strutting his stuff to this music, belting out the almost saucy lyrics of the period. This flute arrangement requires some versatility for its ornamentation. It would make a contrasting encore at a more sedate flute recital, sending the audience home in festive mood.
