This setting of "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today" to the familiar Easter Hymn/"Lyra Davidica" tune is designed to be used with the harmonization in most hymnals. I have included parallel arrangements for both trumpet trio and brass quartet (Tuba or Bass Trombone can easily be substituted for 2nd trombone to give more depth). Typically, when this is being used as a congregational hymn, I will have brass play melody or traditional harmonization on several verses, and use this descant to create an exciting climax to the hymn.
