Written for 2nd & 3rd year clarinet students, this arrangement of one of Chopin's most popular compositions is transposed from the original E major to the more beginner-friendly key of (concert) Bb major. Chopin himself is said to have considered this to be his loveliest melody. Like Dvorak's Humoresque (above), it is geared for players with differing skill levels. The first part (grade 3) requires a somewhat more experienced player than the second part (grade 2), which stays below the break. The entire duet can be played from the score without turning a page, so individual parts are not needed.
