This is the second part of a Chamber Concerto for swinging brass, woodwind and string players. It may be played alone, but is best following the first movement. Part II actually includes movements 2 - 5, each shorter than the last, all smoothly connected. Movement 2 is a slow bass clarinet feature ballad (sure it’s serial, but you can dance to it!), followed by an upbeat soli in the upper winds. The fourth movement reveals the basic structure of the entire piece in its clearest form, and focus is gradually lost again in the fading final movement.
