This violoncello quartet is in three movements, Joy, Sadness, and Resolution and Happiness. It was written to convey the feelings of a certain relationship. Joy is a light, happy waltz. The first half of Sadness is simply a chord progression. Then, this progression repeats with a melody above it. Resolution and Happiness is again in a quick tempo. Spicatto strings initially accompany the melody. However, all four parts then divide for the conclusion of the piece.
