Sternhold collaborated with Hopkins to versify one of the few passages in Scripture (Psalm 18:9-10) which are related to Christmas. It was popular with Puritan America and set to music by a variety of composers including William Billings (1746-1800), Supply Belcher (1752-1836) and James Lyon (1735-1794). To perform this setting of 'The Lord Descended from Above' requires a good a cappella SATB Chamber Choir. Dedication available.
