It is a compact orchestral showpiece, characterized by catchy rhythms and tunes based on romantic and popular music idiom. Generally, it is crafted in A-B-A-C-(A)-B-Coda form. The A theme in C-major, given to the woodwinds, brings cheerful character to the opening of piece and is soon followed by bright tuneful B theme in D-flat major played by strings. Next A part works out the elements of the main theme and makes a technical demand especially on the woodwinds again. In the middle C part the percussions are playing out strong rhtyhms combined with rock-like theme in full orchestra unisono. That jungle of sounds is calming down over brief motives of the A theme and is followed again by B tune. Far horn-soundings begin the coda which brings the piece to the brilliant C-major fortissimo ending.
