This is a flute duet with piano. Flute 1 and flute 2 both have individual melodies and they match up nicely together. Flute 2 begins with a beautiful solo line and flute 1 is added 2 bars later. It is written in ABCA form, with A, cantabile; B, piu animato, a slightly quicker one; and C, dolce. This piece not only consists different time signatures, for instance 4/4 and 6/8, but also different keys – B major, B minor and D major. I was inspired by Doppler’s Andante et Rondo, and there are many similarities between my piece and his flute duet, most noticeable, the structure. If you were a flautist, take your flute out and play the flute 1 part. I am sure the first 2 bars (bar 6-7) will catch your eyes!!!
