Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) was a German Baroque composer and organist . He is best known for this Canon, which is sometimes called "Pachelbel’s canon". This piece is very beautiful and brimful of glee. It is for three violins and basso continuo. This score is targeted at groups with no cellist. Violoncello part is replaced for Viola. This score is Playing a violin part is so enjoyable, however, basso continuo part, in this case viola, is boring. It is repetition of only two bars. Cue notes are added at the end in viola part for being able to quit counting bars.
