Pachelbel's Canon is the most famous piece of music by German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. It was originally scored for three violins and basso continuo. It is believed that the Canon may have been composed for Johann Christoph Bach's wedding, on 23 October 1694, which Pachelbel attended. Johann Christoph Bach was a former pupil of Pachelbel's, and Johann Sebastian Bach's oldest brother.
