This piece is number seven in the collection: Ten Short Easy Piano Pieces.

’Heartening and uplifting’ - John Lill, CBE

’I am impressed by Charles McCreerys collection of pieces; they are all so different. I think my favourites are Envoi, Antique Song and Canon - I find the counterpoint very appealing…Story is a piece I could easily give to some of my pupils to play. And the Marches work very well…Altogether an album that many young players would be pleased to acquire’- Dr Julia Gasper, LGSM

This piece consists of a canon at the octave for the soprano and tenor parts, with two free parts, the alto and bass. The theme is a variant of the Grand March (no. 9 of ’Ten Short Easy Piano Pieces’). However, the character of this piece should be completely different. It should be played legato and dolce throughout.

A bound and illustrated volume of the complete set of Ten Short Easy Piano Pieces is available from the online music retailers, Tutti, at: http://www.tutti.co.uk/search?q=mccreery
