The name of the piece is entitled after the name of my dog, an Alaskan Malamute named Caesar, which sat beside my music room window when I composed the piece and has no historical meaning. The piece can be played faster than the specified tempo and that the solos can be open ended. The rhythm section have full license to vary the groove of the solo section as they feel it and to help drive the soloist.
