Busytime Rag, part of my "Sack of Rags" trio, was written during a period of intense activity, in both composing and teaching, and was intended to convey a sense of the mood of the time. It was also an experiment in merging a simple, bell-like counter-melody with a Scott Joplin-style structure (see final section).
