An orchestral version of a piece I wrote for brass ensemble to accompany a silent film made by Cecil Hepworth in 1909 called Burnham Beeches. This remarkable film consist of a 4 minute tracking shot of woodland without people or action - how Hepworth managed to achieve this with the crude technology available to him at the time is amazing. The result is hypnotic and I have tried to mirror this musically by the use of an almost continuous quaver ostinato figure throughout the piece.
