You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices."Libera me" is commonly featured in many arranged forms for concert material and is still an audience favourite. This work is associated with Faur’s "Requiem" although it was actually written before it’s first version (and as a separate concert item) in 1899-1900. This band arrangement can be sourced to this period or before.
I believe that most bands can manage to play this arrangement effectively and should maintain it’s popularity. I’ve kept it simple and well within players’ ranges. Hope you enjoy it.
N.B., I’ve added a live run-through of this piece as an mp3 file. Basically, it was used at a players’ day at Glasgow Academy as part of the Scottish Brass Band Conductors’ Association featuring new arrangements and compositions from Europe with many of the writers in attendance. It was sightread by a scratch band with a few mistakes and also one player who went AWOL during the reading. At least you can get an idea what my ’sound’ is based on!
