Most respectfully and lovingly dedicated to the composer's maternal uncle (Jeff(rey) Hammersley) and his wife (Andrea Hammersley, formerly Andrea Lynne), this original composition, for solo piano, was inspired by the beautiful orchestral music written by the English composer, Frederick Delius (1862-1934), who, in 1912, wrote his now-famous "On hearing the first Cuckoo in Spring" (one of "Two Pieces for small Orchestra). In this work, various cuckoo calls are referenced in several bars, and, via the technique of alphabetically-based notation, the names of the two dedicatees and their present residence are frequently alluded to throughout the piece.
