Blessed is He who cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Throughout my time as a chorister at Peterborough Cathedral , UK, I sang these words many times and they carry great sentiment. The Benedictus forms a small part of the Mass, a form of sacred musical composition, sung (or read) as part of the Eucharistic liturgy.
This is the full score of my composition Benedictus for SATB choir and orchestra.
This work is less operatic in style but more designed for the church/cathedral choir singing style.
