I wrote this arrangement for use in class with Senior 3 pupils at the school I teach at. I use it to illustrate several musical ideas - plainchant, organum, homophony, polyphony, canon, ground bass, use of modes and probably plenty more I can’t think of at the moment. Despite what individual parts may say, the arrangement is flexible and just about any combination of instruments - and voices - can make an effective performance. The ground bass could also be used as a basis for improvisation.I have included the text on one of the instrumental parts. I have other Sibelius documents and text documents associated with this score (teaching strategy, worksheet for pupils, illustration of musical textures). If you would like me to email you any of these please contact me on s.griffin@gwc.org.uk.
