"Befiehl du deine Wege" (Entrust Your Ways) was my first church anthem, that I learned 1955 with the Reverend Guth at the Elementary School at Dambach near Fürth in Bavaria. His advantage was that he could talk interestingly about his missionary activities in China. I was very impressed by this choral.
Later, in 1978, I fiddled with the Harmony and set the melody by Hans Leo Hassler (1564-1612) very politely into four voices according to the rules of modal composition. At that time, I was very much busy with the organs from 1695 and 1715 of the Cathedral of the City of Mexico and, besides that, in love. I had worked a self-compiled Spanish translation into the corresponding lady's brain.
Only now, in 2023, just a few days ago, I forced the song into a somewhat more modern dress, without asking it, if it feels well in it at all.
You, the listener, have now the word!
