It was commissioned for the massed choirs of the National Association of Choirs (East Anglia Region) and was first performed in Ely Cathedral in April 2002 by 430 singers, conducted by Peter Davies and with organist Gary Sieling. It is in three versions, for SATB, SSAA, and TTBB, and these are performable separately or together. This is the SATB version.
