Adolf Scherzer wrote this march in 1850 and dedicated it to the his Ingolstadt regiment. King Ludwig II of Bavaria adopted the march, so the march then became the Bayerischen (Bavarian) Defilier. To this day it remains the unofficial anthem of the Free State of Bavaria. I kept this edition as "German" as possible while allowing typical wind bands of other nations to effectively perform it for Oktoberfest.
