Bach is well suited to the saxophone ensemble and this C minor Prelude and Fugue fits the dexterity and timbre of the ensemble. Lying well under the fingers, the greatest effort should be spent in balancing the group. The arrangement is in the form of a "realisation" with an expansion of the original 2 part (Prelude) and 3 part (Fugue) counterpoint. The Bass Saxophone is entirely optional.
