Since then it has spawned a number of different versions, even gained some lyrics!
Alison also plays in a flute & guitar duo - Duo Volatus - and I have made an arrangement for this combination, too, and which has proved popular wherever it has been played.
At their last performance in Meavy, a small village on Dartmoor, Alison told me that that the church organist there particularly liked it, and was going to seek out a version. So as not to disappoint him, I have made this special version for organ. It is a quiet, and contemplative piece which, I think, could fulfill a number of purposes in church. As I played the piano on the pub at Meavy - The Royal Oak for a couple of years, and where it became well-known for its Sunday nights where all the singers from the local operatic societies would congregate, and put on an informal concert, I thought a picture of St Peter’s Church would be appropriate.
