I purposely composed this piece to be accessible
to intermediate-level performers. There should be no
technical difficulties, although it is quite chromatic,
and frequently modulates in key. This piece evokes a
feeling of waiting for some
anticipated–but not altogether desired–event. A clock
is ticking, but it is difficult to separate
reality from one's preconceived imagery of impending events.
