This composition was written and dedicated to the memory of my sister-in-law, Karen Elizabeth Elliget, beloved wife to my brother Pat. She sadly lost her fight with cancer and will always be in our hearts. I needed to express my sorrow in some tangible way - music being a balm for the soul…
It has been scored gently for the Orchestra with both happy memories and sadness reflected in the changes of the key from Ab Major to F minor back to Ab Major.
There are parts for both Piano and Harp, while an optional part for Guitar takes the melody on occasions throughout the piece. The only percussion part is for a Vibraphone or a Glockenspiel (as a substitute). Violin 1 parts are split into two parts A and B.
